A HR Consultant or Business Partner provides strategic HR expertise and tailored solutions to address business challenges, typically supporting mid-level and senior managers. Whether working as a generalist or in a specialist area like resourcing or reward, they influence decision-making, lead HR projects, and align people strategies with organisational goals.
Assessment
What does end point assessment involve for HR Consultant/Partner level 5?
Consultative Project
Apprentices write a project describing a situation where they have successfully worked with a customer to deliver a specific piece of HR work or provide an HR solution(s) for them. The project should be 5,000 words.
The Professional Discussion
The Professional Discussion takes place after the Consultative Project has been completed and assessed. It lasts between 60-75 minutes.

- This standard is also known as People Professional v1.2, v1.1, and 1.0.
- The project is started after gateway and must be submitted within 3 months.
- Up to 3 assessment criteria components can be carried over from the consultative project to the professional discussion.
- Each assessment method is marked, and the marks achieved determine the grade.
- Grades achieved in a re-sit or re-take are capped at a Pass.
