A Machine Learning Engineer designs, builds, deploys, and validates machine learning or AI solutions. They manage the full lifecycle of ML models, from development to deployment and continuous monitoring, ensuring reliable, high-performing systems.

What does end point assessment involve for Machine Learning Engineer level 6?
Project Evaluation Report, Presentation and Questioning
Apprentices will complete a project evaluation report based on a problem, issue or opportunity. They will write a report of typically 5,000 words before delivering a 20 minute presentation and undergoing 30 minutes of questioning with an assessor.
Professional Discussion
The professional discussion lasts 90 minutes, and is conducted one-to-one between the apprentice and assessor.
Useful to know
- The project evaluation report is started after gateway and the report and presentation materials must be submitted by the end of week 8 of the EPA period.
- There must be a 2-week gap between report and presentation submission and the assessment, to allow the assessor to review the materials submitted.
- Re-sits are typically taken within 3 months of the EPA outcome date.
- Grades achieved in a re-sit or re-take are capped at a Pass.
