Assessment

What does end point assessment involve for Business Analyst level 4?

1.

Project proposal with presentation and questioning

Apprentices write a proposal for a project that would benefit their organisation. They submit a 5,000-word written proposal, deliver a 15-minute presentation and then have 30-minute questioning with the assessor.

2.

Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

Apprentices submit a portfolio of evidence at gateway. This supports the professional discussion, which will be conducted by video call, one-to-one between the apprentice and assessor. It will last 60 minutes.

Useful to know

  • The portfolio should be submitted at gateway.
  • The implementation of the project proposal must begin during the EPA period and progress against some of the skills statements must be discussed during the presentation.
  • The project proposal and presentation should be submitted a maximum of 6 weeks after approval of the title.
  • There must be a 2-week gap between gateway and the professional discussion, to allow the assessor to review the portfolio.
  • Re-sits are typically taken within a 6 month period, otherwise the entire EPA will need to be re-sat.
  • There is no cap on the grade that can be achieved in a re-sit or re-take.
