Overview
What is a Business Analyst?
A Business Analyst works with organisations to understand stakeholder needs and identify opportunities for improvement through business and digital change. They analyse and document requirements, model processes, and propose technology-driven solutions to ensure that change initiatives deliver meaningful outcomes and align with organisational goals.
Assessment
What does end point assessment involve for Business Analyst level 4?
Project proposal with presentation and questioning
Apprentices write a proposal for a project that would benefit their organisation. They submit a 5,000-word written proposal, deliver a 15-minute presentation and then have 30-minute questioning with the assessor.
Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
Apprentices submit a portfolio of evidence at gateway. This supports the professional discussion, which will be conducted by video call, one-to-one between the apprentice and assessor. It will last 60 minutes.
Useful to know
- The portfolio should be submitted at gateway.
- The implementation of the project proposal must begin during the EPA period and progress against some of the skills statements must be discussed during the presentation.
- The project proposal and presentation should be submitted a maximum of 6 weeks after approval of the title.
- There must be a 2-week gap between gateway and the professional discussion, to allow the assessor to review the portfolio.
- Re-sits are typically taken within a 6 month period, otherwise the entire EPA will need to be re-sat.
- There is no cap on the grade that can be achieved in a re-sit or re-take.
