What is a Data Analyst?
Data Analysts collect, organise and study data to provide insights that support business decision-making across various sectors and departments. They are responsible for independently delivering data analysis using compliant and secure methods, applying a range of techniques to solve problems, inform strategy, and improve organisational effectiveness.
Assessment
What does end point assessment involve for Data Analyst level 4?
Project with presentation and questioning.
Apprentices complete a 3,500 word report, before delivering a 20-minute presentation and 20-minute questioning with an assessor.
Professional discussion with portfolio, lasting 1 hour.
A portfolio of evidence is submitted at gateway. The discussion then takes place as a video call between the apprentice and assessor, lasting 60 minutes.
Useful to know
- The portfolio should be submitted at gateway.
- The project and presentation should be submitted within 8 weeks of the EPA start date.
- The project must map, in an appendix, how it evidences the relevant KSBs for this assessment method.
- There must be a 10-day gap between gateway and the professional discussion, to allow the assessor to review the portfolio.
- Re-sits are typically taken within 2 months of the EPA outcome date.
- There is no cap on the grade that can be achieved in a re-sit or re-take.
