What is an Improvement Specialist?
Improvement Specialists are responsible for leading the deployment of improvement strategy, for training others and for providing broad and deep technical expertise in advanced and complex Lean and Six Sigma, Project and Change Management principles and tools to enable identification and delivery of improvement opportunities aligned to key business goals.
Assessment
What does end point assessment involve for Improvement Specialist level 5?
Professional discussion, underpinned by portfolio of evidence
A discussion between the apprentice and their assessor, with a technical
expert from the apprentice’s employer present. It will last 2-hours to 2-hours 20 minutes.
Examination
An examination consisting of eight separate mini case studies, covering topics where there is a series of right/wrong answers. Apprentices must answer 10 multiple-choice questions in relation to each case-study. It wall last four hours, allowing approximately 30 minutes to answer the questions for each mini case-study.
Useful to know
- The portfolio is submitted at gateway.
- It is recommended that the professional discussion and examination components be completed on the same day however this is not a requirement.
- A re-sit is typically taken within three months of the EPA outcome notification.
- Grades achieved in a re-sit or re-take are capped at a Pass.
