As the apprenticeship landscape evolves, so too must the systems that support it. To reflect these changes, epaPRO is now known as Proficient.
This change aligns with the transition taking place across the sector, where the term End-Point Assessment (EPA) is moving towards the broader term of Apprenticeship Assessment. 1st for Awarding want to ensure our systems and communications reflect this shift clearly for our customers and partners.
Why the change?
Our customers and partners are familiar with the term EPA to describe the final stage of an apprenticeship. However, the sector is now moving towards Apprenticeship Assessment.
Because of this, the name epaPRO no longer fully represents the direction of apprenticeship assessment or the wider capabilities of the platform.
The new name, Proficient, removes the specific reference to EPA and better reflects a system designed to support modern apprenticeship assessment.
What this means for you
While the name is changing, the platform itself has remained familiar to users.
Customers and partners who currently access epaPRO will continue to use the same system, with the same functionality and features. The change is primarily a rebrand designed to align the platform with evolving terminology across the apprenticeship and assessment landscape.
There will be no disruption to your current processes. The URL has now changed to 1stforawarding.proficientapp.co.uk and all existing links will automatically redirect. We’ll update any references within our support materials in line with our usual review and update schedule.
