What file types are accepted on the epaPRO portal?

Assessment evidence comes in many forms – portfolios, project reports, presentation slides, mapping documents and more. We’re often asked what file types are accepted on our portal, also known as epaPRO.

Formats accepted for assessment evidence

1st for Awarding accepts widely used, accessible formats, i.e. the file should not require specialist software to be viewed.

Live, dynamic or changeable media, such as links to YouTube, should not be used. This is because it makes it possible for the content/evidence to be changed after submission, and we must have a non-changeable record of what was submitted.

We recommend you don’t use a dot in the file name, as this can cause confusion. For example:

• Don’t use: mydocument 25.11.22.docx
• Instead use: mydocument 25-11-22.docx

File size

Files submitted should be a maximum of 250MB each. Multiple files can be submitted. If you have a file larger than 250MB, it’s recommended you try to reduce image sizes/resolutions where possible. Video and audio clips can be shortened, or file compression software can be used to reduce the file size.

What file types are accepted on the portal?

If the file you are trying to upload is not in this list, it will not be accepted.
