About apprenticeship units
The introduction of apprenticeship units marks one of the most significant recent changes to the apprenticeship system in England. Designed to increase flexibility and responsiveness, these units represent a shift away from the traditional model toward a more modular, skills-focused approach.
Apprenticeship units signal a move toward shorter, targeted training that will be delivered and applied more quickly.
Assessment and moderation
1st for Awarding will provide the assessment and support materials to the provider to deliver and mark the skills test (this includes testing knowledge and skills). We will then act as moderator.
How it works
- The provider uploads the completed and marked assessment materials.
- We moderate to ensure fair and valid marking and confirm the outcome.
- For apprentices with a confirmed positive outcome, we provide a digital certificate.
